In the Kindergarten class, students will have instruction in mathematics, language arts, Bible, science, and social studies. They will also have enrichment classes – physical education and music. All subject matter is taught through a Biblical worldview. Our kindergarten class fulfills all PA learning standards and employ resources proven to be effective for student learning. Classroom instruction focuses on Christian discipleship where we partner with Christian parents to ensure consistency of life and learning.
The following is a brief overview of our Kindergarten curriculum:
- Spiritual formation focuses on discipleship training through interactive bible stories, life application, character development, music, and additional activities.
- Language skills – oral development, phonics, journaling (kid writing) and introductory reading skills are introduced and reinforced through the use of a variety of effective instructional tools including: Peabody Language Program, Abeka phonics and handwriting, plus additional supplemental resources.
- Mathematic skills will be introduced and reinforced through the Saxon math curriculum, using manipulatives and hands-on learning activities to strengthen reasoning skills and provide opportunities for knowledge application.
- Fine and gross motor skill development with varied age-appropriate activities
- Music concepts as children are introduced to sounds, rhythms, instruments, etc.
- Science and Social Studies knowledge and learning takes place primarily through theme-based activities throughout the year, which include hands-on interactive experimentation and life application.
